MOOYI Executive Director Mr. Ou Yang Attends “Uruguay, a small but great country” Exhibition to Promote China-Uruguay Integration in Trade, Economy and Culture

On September 20, 2025, the photography exhibition “Uruguay, a Small but Great Country“–held at Mawan 1868, Hong Kong’s new cultural-tourism landmark-garnered widespread attention. Jointly organized by the Consulate General of Uruguay in Hong Kong and Hong Kong VA Art Center, the exhibition served as part of the opening events of VA Art Center (Mawan) and commemorated the establishment of the Consulate General of Uruguay in Hong Kong. It also received strong support from the Embassy of Uruguay in China. The exhibition featured 38 photographic works by renowned Uruguayan artist Marcelo Cattani, which vividly captured Uruguay’s natural landscapes and cultural heritage through a unique visual narrative, offering audiences a window into the charm of South American culture.

At the special invitation of Federico Lage, Consul General of Uruguay in Hong Kong, Mr. Ou Yang–Executive Director of MOOYI INTERNATIONAL HOLDING LIMITED (MOOYI)–attended the exhibition and joined in China-Uruguay cultural exchange activities. His involvement demonstrated a concrete effort to promote deeper collaboration between the two nations in economic, trade, and cultural fields.

As a company long dedicated to importing Uruguayan beef and actively facilitating China-Uruguay collaboration, MOOYI’s invitation to the exhibition underscores its leading role in bilateral trade and economic exchanges, as well as its strategic vision of enhancing bilateral relations through cultural engagement. During the visit, Mr. Ou Yang not only appreciated Marcelo Cattani’s photographic works in detail—experiencing the pulse of Uruguay’s grasslands, coastlines, and urban life through the interplay of light and shadow—but also held a cordial meeting with Consul General Federico Lage. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on the achievements of Chinese and Uruguayan enterprise cooperation in areas such as agricultural trade and cultural and artistic exchanges during the exhibition. The meeting concluded with a photo session, laying a solid foundation for further deepening cooperation in the future.

Mr. Ou Yang expressed that the exhibition has provided a high-quality platform for dialogue between Uruguayan and Chinese enterprises and cultural circles. He stated that MOOYI will continue to leverage its resources in the trade sector while actively exploring innovative approaches to cultural exchange–aiming to enhance the synergy between economic cooperation and cultural interactions, injecting renewed vitality and depth into the friendly relations between the two countries.
